“I have no companion but Love, no beginning, no end, no dawn. The Soul calls from within me: 'You, ignorant of the way of Love, set Me free.'”

Divorce Doula
Divorce is a life transit that takes great courage and requires much support. A divorce doula provides non-legal, holistic support (emotional, practical, logistical) during divorce, acting as a guide, coach, and resource connector to help clients navigate the overwhelming process, manage emotions, understand legal steps, plan for the future, and transition to a new life with clarity and strength, much like a birth doula supports childbirth. They help with everything from communication strategies with an ex to finding therapists, opening new accounts, and setting personal goals, focusing on self-empowerment and a smoother transition.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
Emotional Support: Offers a sounding board, reassurance, and a non-judgmental space to process feelings like heartbreak, confusion, and anger.
Practical Guidance: Helps with logistics like setting up new finances, understanding bills, and managing daily life during a confusing time.
Process Navigation: Explains the divorce process, teaches clients how to work effectively with lawyers and mediators, and helps set realistic expectations.
Resource Connection: Connects clients with vetted professionals, such as attorneys, financial advisors, therapists, and parenting resources.
Empowerment: Shifts focus from the ending to a new beginning, encouraging self-discovery, personal growth, and building a strong, independent future.
Communication Coaching: Helps clients draft neutral, effective emails to their ex-spouses, reducing hostility.
What They Are Not:
Not a Lawyer: I don't provide legal advice but help you understand the legal landscape and work with your attorney.
Not a Therapist: While providing emotional support, I don't replace mental health treatment but can help find a therapist.
In essence, a divorce doula acts as a "guardian angel" or "special sauce," providing holistic hand-holding to ensure clients don't just survive divorce, but emerge stronger and prepared for their next chapter.

“I don’t know how I would have made it through my divorce without this support, but I do know I wouldn’t be as healthy and happy as I am now.”
