  • WEBINAR: HERBAL SAFETY IN PREGNANCY

One of the basic safety considerations most asked by herbalists and pregnant folks who wish to use herbal medicine is the question of herbal safety in pregnancy. The class will look at 3 different approaches to the question of herbal safety in pregnancy. Students will leave class with an understanding of herbs that they can use during pregnancy as well as understanding when to consider using herbs that may carry some risk and what these risks entail. Focus will be on herbs commonly used by midwives, birth workers & pregnant folks as well as herbs used for common discomforts and issues that arise during pregnancy.

  • CLASS: HERBAL FIRST AID

First Aid skills can be useful skills for anyone to incorporate into community and/or family life as well as an important component of herbal medicine practice. These skills can be used to benefit our communities in times of need and for the day-to-day care of acute health conditions. In this class Cal Wolfpack, a community and clinical herbalist with a background in first aid, will present their herbal first aid kit as a hands-on example of how one might organize their first aid kit to include herbal medicine as a primary element. In this class, participants will learn clinical skills and considerations for first aid work, herbal strategies for wound care, and discuss other problems commonly encountered in first aid in which herbs have a primary role in care. Participants will gain knowledge of several herbs including when and how to use them for acute health situations.
